Barbara Stanwyck’s association with the Western genre is significant and, indeed, interesting. Although perhaps best remembered as a femme fatale or screwball comedienne, Stanwyck’s involvement in the Western equaled that of many of the genre’s well-known male stars.

Thanks Retlaw, just spotted your post - brilliant. Saturday mornings at the Odeon - i can remember 8 cinemas in Accrington, Church & Oswaldtwistle but got a feeling that there were more than that - 5 + 1 + 2

Not sure where the Church/Ossy boundary is but I always thought the Empire, Palladium & Palace were in Ossy.

There were 6 cinema's in Acc
Empire & Princess in Edgar St,
Palace on the corner of Abbey St and Peel St,
Bug Hut diagonally across the road from the Palace facing the end of Peel St,
the Odeon on Broadway,
and the Ritz on the corner of Church St and Cannon St.

As usual Retlaw, you are correct - the Bug hut being the King's Hall - Thank you.
I only remember two in Ossy, do not remember the Palce - where was it?

Palace was on Rhyddings St. Used to go there Sat mornings for a tanner - Lone Ranger / Batman & Robin / etc.
