Ricky Gervais hosting Golden Globe Awards

Do the Americans get our well known "British humour"?

Re: Ricky Gervais hosting Golden Globe Awards

Sorry, I laughed.

If you invite someone to your party, make sure they aren't going to stand up, and take the rip out of you.

The joke about Travolta and Cruise was cringe makingly hilarious, especially delivered to an audience of the movers and shakers in Sycophantsville, U.S. of A.

Then again, I enjoy seeing people squirm. Which is probably why him, biting the hand that's generously fed him, tickled me.

I doubt most of them get our humour, but you picked a bad example, you should have found someone that was funny in the first place.

My thoughts exactly Alan, but if he is so risky why did they ask him, I'm nearly sure he did the same awards last year

Asking a comedian to host an awards show, is a bit like asking Rose West to baby-sit.

There's always going to be an element of risk.

You have to be careful how far to go.

Julian Clary went up to the elbow, with Norman Lamont, and never worked in this country again for years.

What people find amusing is subjective.

Up until he slipped his Lamont glove on, he was never off the box.

I've never seen anything remotely funny in Ricky Gervais.
