Soap

I don't watch soaps these days, just Corry occasionally if Joans in an episode. Yesterday Joan wanted To watch the omnibus of Eastenders, so I had to watch, well with one eye. I have to say if I watched Eastenders on a regular basis I think I'd be suicidal, nobody bloody smiles its all doom and gloom, and this is the most popular soap on telly, I'll stick to football

Re: Soap

I don't watch any of them.
From reading 'summaries of the action', it is evident that -
....they do not reflect real life
....they condition you to think that if your own 'real life' is not like that, then you are not conforming to today's standards in society.

Todays standards are dropping ....... see the connection?

Re: Soap

I watch a couple of them, corrie and emmerdale and no I don't think that my "real life " should comform to what society dictates. To blame soaps for the way standards are dropping is OTT IMHO.

Re: Soap

The most relistic person in Corrie was Blanche,,,she called a spade a spade but was just so funny and at the same time you related to her way of thinking,,she will be an hard act to follow,,,

Re: Soap

I adore Corrie, I think it's up there with Dickens, but you can keep your moaning, miserable cock-er-neys.

Funniest soap line of the year, Norris and his girlfriend in the mobile home they'd won, and her saying to him, deadpan, that she normally lies in bed stroking her little Moo-moo, until she falls asleep.

Re: Soap

They should say she got back late last night, and is upstairs listening to tapes in Tracey's bedroom, and can't manage the stairs. It worked when Tracey disappeared for a couple of years in puberty.

She could bang on the floor with her slipper from time to time, just to get on Ken's wick.
