Sweeney Remake!

I just came across a trailer for the New Sweeney film starting Ray Winstone as Regan and singer Plan B as Carter! First impression; "what a load of rubbish!" Why are they obsessed with trying to remake classic films and TV and failing! Waste of money! I suppose it's using a formula that works, for a generation that may not be acquainted with the original.

Re: Sweeney Remake!

I like Ray Winstone, so I will reserve judgement until I have seen the film.

He's OK but it's not a judgement on him - it's why bother calling it Sweeney when the only thing that will make it like the original are the names of the characters!

The Sweeney was immortalised by John Thaw and Denis Waterman, 4 series and 53 episodes, plus a couple of films which didn't really fly for me, but I'm not a big lover of remakes myself, they might be okay for people who didn't see the original (which is very rare these days with all the satellite channels)offering, although I like Ray Winston, I'll certainly reserve judgement on this one

Correct but it wasn't Clarkson it was the drivers they use - Clarkson and Hammy where on the set though, on the DVD was some extra clips on the subject, showing how the film was made and details like that.
