Anyone else remember Dixon of Dock Green? Always used to end with "Evenin' all!" -they don't make 'em like that any more

I remember watching it but I don't remember any content, I mean plots! Also there was "Z cars!" They do - if you tried watching it now you'd find it terribly slow I'd think!

Yeah, this episode was directed by Danny 'Slumdog Millionaire' Boyle. Which shows the the quality people who worked on the show. He directed probably the best Morse episode of all as well 'Masonic Mysteries'.
Lewis is a fitting sequel. But it's a bit like Christmas without the turkey. It's OK but something's missing. Plus I'm a bit uneasy with the change in Lewis's character to make him more morose. I know this is down to his wife passing away etc but in the original series he was more of a 'happy go lucky' counterpoint to the more serious, pretentious Morse.

To be honest ToffeeGuy I think Laurence Fox helps make Lewis watchable, think he's a better foil for Lewis than Lewis was for Morse

Never realised he directed that episode -it's a good one but then i love 'em all.
As to Lewis -i also think he's a bit too morose now, perhaps they could find him a love interest in the new series and then he might perk up a bit.
Like Jay I do like Lawrence Fox in Lewis - great actor playing an interesting character.

So it is likely to be postponed indefinately because soldiers are dying daily and have been for hundreds of years.
Maybe the episode has revealed or depicts army malpractice which they don't want to publicise - we have all heard about 'Deepcut'.
Now you come to mention it - they replaced it with an episiode of Lewis which showed a female Priest ( or what every you call them) choking to death on poison. Seems ironic to replace it with anything with murder in it. Perhaps they should have replaced it with "Gandi."
The day Princess Diana died there was some film on that night on BBC 1, I don't even recall what it was, but they replaced it with "Ring of Bright Water." about an otter in Scotland. Strange choice.
