Re: Worlds scariest plane landings, channel 5

There seem to be 2 distinct sets of thoughts provoked by the Cruise disaster: Those who are put off cruising and those (like my parents) who think it's the best time to book a cruise now as prices will go down and more attention will be paid to safety!

What about the big fuss the other year over the volcanic ash cloud -was it really as dangerous as they made out or was there an element of panic involved?

Morning BG

I have been meaning to call at your house when I see your car around to ask if you think the video below is a put up job. Would the pickup take the weight of the nose wheel load and could it get up enough speed to match the planes speed in the short time it took to reach it.
The Video is from a Nissan advert so I have my doubts about it.

G you are always welcome, I am not too sure about a car taking the weight, but would be interesting to see if it could be done....

This might wet your appetite:

As long as I am not in the car when you try to land on I don't mind you having a go.

Do you remember the tests they did landing a Jaguar jet fighter plane on the M55 when it first opened.
I have a video of it somewhere.

I will stick to a PMDG 737, it's much safer and Leeds to Manchester is easy, even though I sometimes land a few yards to the right of the runway. Must be magnetic variation not compensated for on the compass. The charts you gave me are a few years old now.
