Re: Accyweb problems
Am glad it's being sorted out.
Tonight I can see Katex has posted and I can't read it.
Also I've just posted and I can't see to edit it if it's my usual gibberish.

Re: Accyweb problems
There's a new forum version out but it's in beta stage at the moment. Think all the problems would be best left until this version goes final and just go for the full upgrade. Wont be long until it's released, and it's amazing! I have it on my GR8 Britain site.
Mods can be added easily after that.

Re: Accyweb problems
For some strange reason, I thought accyweb was on it's on server and that blackpool web burnley web etc was of your server too. I nearly asked what your rates are, but it's just aswell I didn't as you'd be wondering why.

Re: Accyweb problems
software doesnt were out neil. servers do.. i dont think updating the software will fix the current problems..in fact it will probably put more of a strain on the server.... software runs and runs.. they dont develope bugs.. they are there already... they dont deteriorate just look older compared to newer versions.. If roys putitng it on its own server close by (i am guessing where close by is hehe... so close he can put his cup of tea on it) then things will start to get better. The question is when ?

I had asked the moderator to remove this post, but he is obviously busy so just consider it to be gone. (there now only a short amount of my drivel, what a shame that I didn't know what I was talking about!).

Re: Accyweb problems
Complaints? where are they then?
I was asking what trouble people are having and I listed mine, does/will this not help in finding what is wrong with the site and maybe help in solving the trouble?
We are being patient - no-one has gone off in a huff saying that they wont be coming back or anything, we're putting up with it aren't we?

I've noticed problems in there, such as uploading images twice, just like double posting.
Problem is, is that both images have identical titles making it difficult in removing one as by deleting one you automatically delete the other.
You can actually upload image with the same title and under normal circumstances the software will slightly modify the duplicated titles by adding a “1” or “2” to the title.
As I said before there are other forum administrators all reporting similar problems to that we are experiencing here and they are all on server 2.

Cheers Len,
I've not had any trouble in there up to tonight, I tried looking at the latest uploads and just couldn't get to view them, it kept going to a blank screen.

Re: Accyweb problems
Well. the duplicates are mostly people clicking send again because it sticks. If you copy it before you send, send it once, then click on the links at the top in the middle of the menu, feedback suggestions and help on here, it usually takes you up a level, and you'll find your post has sent. and yes less, agree, we have to make the best of the situation.

I meant that it may be best to just wait for the new forum version and then go for a compete fresh install on the new server.
Mis-connections and timeouts when executing a command can cause db errors and faults, resulting in your software behaving weird over time.
I'm sure Roy will sort it once he's able to do so.
