Cool Ackers - revalued!

So, you may have noticed that you've lost all your horded ackers...?

Well, this is due to the economy of the old AccringtonWeb being completely out of control. Ackers where flying around like there was no tomorrow and due to this the price of bread had risen to 17,000,985,000,413 ackers. Thus a decision had to be made to resolve this. The AccringtonWeb monetary board decided major action needed to be taken and immediately deemed old Ackers currency as illegal and wiped out all bank accounts. Everyone has to start again with a new value of ackers. Hopefully the board can control the economy better this time....

I've made it twelve again. You only lose 1 karma now for thieving, but you lose two if you get caught...

Re: Ackers - revalued!

I wouldn't worry about feeding Spike Vorlon. Like my pussycat Fougère he hasn't shown up again. Roy said they might get killed on holiday in New Zealand.

I also had an account with the old bank where I quite prudently saved my Ackers, but I also didn't mind sharing a few with others in times of need. Now I find that with the closure of that bank I've lost everything so I don't trust this new bank asking me to deposit what little I've got left in my petty cash.

Do you know how the ackers are awarded now? There doesn't seem to be a hard and fast rule for them.

Re: Ackers - revalued!

To be honest I haven't taken much notice of them since the changes as I lost all incentive to save. lol I was quite a hoarder but I didn't mind being generous with what I'd saved and helping out other people in need as and when the occasion arose.

The disappearance of all my savings reminded me too much of real life where people saved their hard earned wages for retirement and the government penalises them by making them pay for nursing homes and the like by selling their houses and having nothing left to enjoy or pass on to their children but on the other hand gives out benefits to workshy layabouts who've never done nor intended to do a days work all their lives and squandered what they've had in benefits and then get more freebies at the expense of the tax payer. It's a pet peeve of mine because a friend of mine is a warden for sheltered accomodation.

Re: Ackers - revalued!

Willow, you appear to be getting mixed up with real and virtual life. Our money is not real, you haven't lost anything, the system has just been reset to balance things out a bit. Under the previous system ackers where almost worthless as everyone could afford anything, which kind of makes it a completely pointless system.
