Forum rules ref Trolls
Why aren't there any?
Troll (Internet) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

What would you suggest as a rule?
Is it a problem? I thought we dealt with such issues as they happen or are reported.

Re: Forum rules ref Trolls
You are tempting me to start a poll topic - "is he one or isn't he?"
I wont take the bait just to get the forum count up since you know and like the person concerned.

Sorry Margaret, got my 'grey' head on. I thought you were asking for some trolls.
Silly me, I know you are far to sensible to do that!

Seeing as you have been reading the rules did you see this one?

Its the one that usually gets me abused when I remove lots of posts in threads that target other members.

Re: Forum rules ref Trolls
I have never abused the member concerned other than to speculate that he trolls.
Since you have no rules to cover that - I can't have broken any

Re: Forum rules ref Trolls
It's quite simple really, if people are getting in a tizzy over what's being posted by the individual, don't respond or post comments which will encourage them. You've no one to blame but yourselves if you bite & take the bait ! Don't kick the wasps nest if you don't want to get stung !

I always said you were smart, son!
DNFTT...that is the short version...do not feed the trolls.
I'm not sure he is a troll......he is just an itch that you can't scratch..... a bit like a bad case of thrush...maybe we should change his name to Thrush.

Except it isn't really common.
If it were common more people would have it!

Re: Forum rules ref Trolls
Honestly, I find our resident troll quite amusing. Some of the sarcastic responses to his posts are comedy gold. He's not doing any harm, and ignoring him is quite easy. I think we should keep him as a pet.
