Re: Necroposting
one of the best threads I've come across was a "necropost" . Tealeaf started the SS Accrington thread in January 2004 , and it was revived in December 2008 after a 4 year lull , I'm sure to lots of 'newer' users it was informative and I enjoyed reading it from begining to end .
Re. Mattylad saying that some forums expect you do do a search beforehand on a topic ,seems a bit petty since I never knew that there was a SS Accrington in the first place

Another problem is topics going off topic to the point where they are an entirely different subject to that in the subject title.. there are several times where someone posts a new thread in the stanley forums relating to topic x only to be told it was already being talked about in the thread titled topic y.
These are just basic message boards rules that make the forums more functional for all and are generally pretty standard.

First time I have come accross this...didn't even know there was a word for it!
How can you make "necroposting" against forum rules? It often brings up things new members don't know have been discussed before, and can add to the forum interest by opening topics up again.
If nothing else, it gives people who posted way back when, a laugh maybe about what they posted, & notes whether they have changed their opinions on certain topics.
How often in normal conversation do we go back to things that we have discussed before, and view them with differnet eyes?
Necroposting should stay.

Re: Necroposting
I like necroposting, or as I prefer to call it, Lazarusposting.
Here's one I made earlier.

Re: Necroposting
Don't know what anybody else thinks, but I reckon if there are any controversial threads on here they're usually started by SmF

Is that me Cashy ? Guess you are correct really, coward more like.
I do agree with all the other comments though, that Necroposting should remain. Loved the old thread Garinda put up, and never seen it before ... very funny .. could possibly resurrect with a new calendar. LOL.

They are often technical/help/information type forums. We are just a bunch of Muppet's chatting about drivel

Re: Necroposting
Yes they were technical forums, however for them being petty about it, it's about as petty as complaining about "necroposting" as it has been dubbed.

Re: Necroposting
Someone may revive this thread in years to come, and breathe some life into it.
(Though I doubt it.)
