New section
I'm sure that somebody has already suggested this a while ago but due to the increasing numbers of younger members would it be possible to have a little section for them? I noticed in the general chat section that comments came up about somebody's spelling/grammar within that forum as it is 'teenspeak' and not everybody understands it. I agree that while in general chat the spelling and grammar should be in a format that is easily readable to all. If the younger people on this forum had their own little area then they could spell as they like within that area without us oldies being befuddled by the 'modern' way of spelling.
I may even go into this section n try 2 follow the chat ppl, innit....

Re: New section
Although I,m not as old as Lettie, I do think she has a point, I dont understand most of it, though I am willing to learn, so if they dont get their own little area maybe they can write a teen dictionary!

Re: New section
It might not be a bad idea, if they had a little area to feel at home in where they coculd chat away as they pleased and then when they wanted to post with us old fogeys they could adopt a more generally understood form of communication.
I still can't see why anyone would type "woz" in preference to "was" when it's the same number of letters.

Re: New section
Yes, it's similar to:
ure=your or you're
woz=was
ne1=anyone
but wouldn't it be tragic if the English language degenerated to that in written form?
I don't know if anyone else has seen it but I recall an amusing email I once received where there were slight changes propes to the spelling each year and as each was added it was still understandable but by the last entry we were reading was actually written in German.

Re: New section
I've seen that one Willow, it's quite good how it was done. I will sometimes use this shortened way of spelling when I'm using my phone to text (due to lack of space) but I think that on a mixed age groups open forum words should be written in a format that everybody understands. Hence a young persons section where they may write as they wish (within reason)...
