Recommended tradesmen

After recieving a reply to my request for a recommended plunber in the Hints/Tips/Advice section from a fellow Accy Webber - the plumber turned out to be a top rate guy, even came Sat morning !!! and didn't charge the earth

It occurred to me that it might be a good idea to have a list of recommended workmen and to have their Accy Web customers give them testimonials etc, with contact details for the Accy Webbers that recommend them, so that people can get in touch, find out exactly what work they did etc

Just a thought - what do you reckon ??

cheers

Mick

Re: Recommended tradesmen

What a brilliant idea, nothing like personal recommendations.

wonder why this never took off, it was such a good idea. I would have followed the recommendations of fellow forum members!

Re: Recommended tradesmen

Mmmm - I thought it would have taken off too - with so many people complaining about being ripped off etc. surely recommendations are the best way.

Anyway, maybe if we can get other people interested in the idea, the Forum Guru's may come on and tell us why (if) they don't think its a good idea

Re: Recommended tradesmen

Hyndburn Homewise on Abbey St, have lists of recommended tradesmen and they ring to check if the work done was to the customers satisfaction. I thought it was a service for the seniors citizens but its for anyone who needs it. Also they have a handyman service, where they will send someone to do small jobs around the house. You supply the stuff, they fit it free of charge. They also offer security advice.
