Re: Rules of engagement
Thanks Katex, found the Group Memebership stuff and change my category. Now we'll see if I too can go green!
Dag, now that's a bit much! Thought I'd be a thin greeny!

Re: Rules of engagement
I see from my CP I have now been promoted to member + 5. Can anyone tell me what that means (the +5 bit, I mean), and what I did to deserve it?

Yes, I could but it would seem as if I was being a toady and I couldn't stand another have your heartless cutting insults!
P.S. Have you tried doing a search for the answer? (Sensible answer would be appreciated).

That was the only (tongue in cheek ) insult - which you richly deserved.
The rest was nothing more than me refuting your insulting remarks about me. Strange that you classify that as "heartless". So who's being heartless, then??? I am utterly shocked that someone could be so lacking in perception and sensitivity.
So much for asking the "friendly people" on this site!!
See if I care. I'm off to sulk.

Re: Rules of engagement
thick black are mods.
thin black haven't donated.
thin green over 1000 posts.
thick green donator.
Yellow award winners.
people can rate your posts. they click on the karma word at the top right or the set of scales.
You have an option of making it positive or negative, and you can write a comment and sign it.
Positive gives you an increase prportional to the power of the person who gave it. If spuggie gave you karma your karma would increase by 12 because he's got power 12.
If he gave negative your karma would decrease by 6 because it roughly half of the power of the person taking it.
You can't give karma yet because you haven't made 100 posts, once you have made 100 posts you'll be on power 1.
your power increases by 1 for every 6 months your a member, for every 1000 posts made, and every 50 karma points you get.
So if you have 100 karma you'd have power 2 on top of any existing power.
I'm on power 7 because...
100 posts gives 1
2000 posts gives 2
150 karma gives 3
membership longer than six months gives 1

Re: Rules of engagement
Introducing people gives you power too. But quite seriously if the boss himself can't remember the differences in thickness and colour then it's a slim chance anyone else has got of really making sense of it!
