Yes I know Less usually only types carp.

I have however had members worried contacting me, about a certain person trying to stir things up about accyweb and H.B.C.

Now as much as we all may think that we have a right to say what we think about any subject, if we stray from the path authorities could and perhaps would use this to the detriment of accyweb. (Let's face it they can spend more money than accyweb can!)

So can I ask all members to add to their signature, 'The views expressed here are my own and are not necessarily those of the site', I don't know if this will protect the site completely, (I'm not a person of law), but at least it will help towards that person (or others), not being able to harm us or worse have us closed down.

I'm sorry, if this turns out to be nothing but scare scaremongering but I would rather we are safe than sorry.

I'm off now to alter my signature.

I've had that under my signature for a long time and I seriously recommend that everyone does the same.

I know nothing about legal stuff either but I think everyone should be responsible for their own posts - Gondola, that means you too!

Less, it has been proven in court(legal precendence) that the owners of a site cannot be legally responsible for posts contained within it as long as they show due dilligence in removing any racist/sexist/etc posts.

So whilst its all my own words and thoughts I'll refrain from it at the moment. Its sounding all merkin if you ask me.

If a member is constantly stirring up things that Roy does not wish to be discussed then that member should be banned.

Thanks for that entwisi, as you already know the mods keep on top of that and do a good job, but it only needs a little slip to cause problems, and until Roy is back over here I'm just trying to be careful.

yes, the mods do a good and valued job, one slip would never be enough for HBC to do anything. Legally you are covered, tbh if any member is causing a problem then just ban them (As has happened before)

I've read 'that' thread from start to finish and have purposely not taken an active role in it as I share your view that he's not to be trusted, I've never felt like that about any member on accyweb before ....... oh except Neil ..... oh and chav ..... Oh and ...

While I DID participate....I don't think my contributions were particularly inflammatory......or defamatory for that matter.
