I'm sorry if it offends but i'm with Bert on this one.
The people that are offering are doing it out of the kindness of there hearts.
We are certainly not trying to dictate what goes on at accyweb, the idea was purely a discusion of ways to POSSIBLY help somebody who we have a lot of respect for.

I will go with majority decision on this one.I know a lot of people who view the site but don't post,and a payment to use it would certainly stop them doing this.It's supposed to be a forum for the whole community so sponsorship from a local firm or 2 would seem the ideal solution...Hollands?Marshalls?

What about applying for a lottery grant? If they can fork out £300,000 for Spring Hill Pregnant Asian Teenage Co-ordinators I'm sure they could find a few bob for here.

Tell me if im wrong but this was just an idea to help Roy and the site out. Nobody has mentioned you HAVE to give any money. People who are willing and want to help then thats their own personal choice. Not only doing a fund raiser would we be able to raise money yet we could also have a great laugh and get the site involved in doing something different, its all more publicity for the site.

Yes Pussycat, that was my thinking when I first mentioned some form of financial support for Roy. Had never any thought that there would or should be a compulsory membership fee. Just seemed wrong that the lad was having to dig into his own pocket to run the Forum. And goodness me, how on earth can the Inland Revenue get involved with individuals just sending a private contribution ?

if the donationes are anything like the support we got at christmas then Roy would be well out of pocket

Seems we are getting contradictory posts here! Roy's dad has said it's a no no you say, so why don't we just wait until Roy is around and see what the situation is? Might be a good idea?

I also take offence at the fact that you are now suggesting if we don't turn up at King St with a donation we don't support the site! that we haven't any excuse for calling in, well yes, I'm afraid some of us have.

I also don't like the fact that those of us who didn't turn up at the Christmas party were considered not supportive of the site - utter rubbush.

I have to agree with cazzer about not turning up suggesting that we don't support the site. I also see Micks point about people saying they would turn up and not doing.
In one post we are being told NO and then next we are being told to bring the money or else we don,t support the site. This is getting blown way out of preportion, an idea was suggested to try to do Roy a favour, only Roy can make the decision whether he likes the idea or not!

Again you are being offensive. How dare you tell me what I should do! Any money that may or may not be handed over will not be because you tell me to! May i suggest that might be off putting to others too.
You seem to forget i was one of those who originally offered a donation!
So who's decision is this now, yours? Roy's Dad? Does Roy know what's being said?
I'll pay my bit when something's been sorted out properly thankyou!

As for the christmas do it was ME that payed for it all and was me that was out of pocket becouse people said they were comming so i orderd more stuff
you were one of the people that had other commitments i know that and said you were not comming that was fare enough but a lot said they were comming and did not
the idea of the donations was not ment to afend anyone and if it did then i appolagise
it was just that we had a meeting comming up so i thought it would be a good idea to do a collection for ROY as it was near town and people could drop in for a chat and a pint as well SO I APOLAGISE TO ALL
