A Midlands Fan
Hi
I'm Stanley fan from Coventry, and watch the results from a far (140 miles to be precise). I'm a senior citizen of 68 years and following my eldest sons migration to Stanleyland about four years ago I've developed a love of the team.
I made it to the home match against Burton Albion towards the end of last season whilst visiting up north and loved every minute of it. A few pints in Wetherspoons and one in a pub at the bottom of a hill near Tesco's and the railway station, which had about three dozen TV's on the walls around the bar. This followed our pilgrimage to Mecca in the form of the the Peel Park pub.
As an old timer I hated the walk up the hill but was relieved to reach the pub at the top and then get some chips behind the stand.
Being only thirty miles from Northampton the opportunity to see Stanley again is to good to miss so me and the current Mrs Bigred have got our train today and are counting down.
This all seems ironic as Sixfields is now the home ground of Coventry City and is being boycotted by the vast majority of Sky Blue fans.
Only 1500 attend Coventry games there, but this Saturday 6350 are maing their way to Milton Keynes whilst I go to that ground to shout on the Stanley.
Anyone going to Northampton on Saturday who hears the wife and me cheering in a Brummie accents come and say hello, my names Paul & the wife is Pat.
