How'do. Anyone know about Enfield cricketer, Thomas Whalmsley Cottom,(Tommy Cottom)who played in't Lancashire League in't 1920's?
I'd love to know.

Baz It is not beyond possiblity that Accrington Library Local studies have a reference to him from their index of Observer cuttings. This is a very unusual way of spelling his middle name.His surname can also be spelled Cottam. This name arises from a village, Cottam, near Preston.

The heading Cloggyman surely refers to Cottom, who was perhaps a clogger by trade, or gave the bowling some clog when at the crease. Some of our members have read it that you are calling yourself Cloggyman.I think it unlikely that he wore clogs whilst on the turf.

There was a famous cricketer in the 20s called Trumper. This was his surname.
