Hello from Mexico!
Hi everybody....I am a Boltonion, but I was 'transplanted' to Mexico in 1960, after meeting my dashing Mexican husband-to-be...I had many friends in the Blackburn/Accrington/
Darwen area, so maybe someone will remember me..If so, I would be very happy to hear from you. Both my husband and I knew the manager and other employees at Platt Bros in Accrinton in the 1960´s; but as that company closed many years ago, I suspect that the people we knew are no longer living in the area.
Regards to all,
Geraldine Leighton de Robredo

Re: Hello from Mexico!
Hello Geraldine, welcome to AccyWeb The Globe works itself doesn't exist now. Most of it has been demolished and what was left turned into "The Globe Centre".
Check around the forums and you may even find photos of it.

Re: Hello from Mexico!
You have all been so welcoming and kind that I wonder if I may ask a favour? If anyone happens to know a woman in Accrington called Theresa ?, about 45-6 years old, born in Bolton in July or August of 1959, daughter of Mary ? and an Irishman, and as a baby being adopted by an Accrington couple, please let me know..It´s a long shot I know, but if we never ask, we´ll never know!!! Many thanks in advance...

No Jas, I didn´t work at Dobson and Barlow..But my husband represented Platt Bros here in Mexico in the 1960´s.. That´s how I knew some of the people in sales there.
