Hi from East Lancs Concert Band
I'm the trumpet player with the East Lancs Concert Band. We were formed in 1842 as the Accrington Old Band. I have come to this site whilst researching the history of the band. I hope there is someone who has some memories for us.

I am not aware that anything has been written about Accrington's musical past - there have been several bands and choirs, but it would be worth asking the library : They will likely have photographs.

I have a dialect poem -'Owd Thrumble's owd trombone' which concerns a trombonist they call Owd Titanic - 'cause he drowns all t'rest o't'band.
