Hi from someone who's been here a while!!!
Hi, I joined Accrington Web a few years ago but haven't been able to use it really. I going to try now
 I was born in Blackburn in 1950 and lived in India St for a few years, went to St Andrews and then Paddock House. My grandfather made tripe in a works at the bottom of Westwood Street. I don't have any relatives in this area now but would love to find out more. I have lived in Hong Kong since 1981, so as you can imagine lost touch with the places. Nice to meet you all. Ann |

Welcome to the Accy web Ann.
That was a nice introduction, I hope you enjoy your time with us and find the friends you left behind. As a newcomer my self to Accrington ( just 45 years) I don't know much about the town but there are plenty of helpful members willing to help.

Many, if not most, of the residents in India St hail from the sub-continent......I probably took papers to your house after peeling the potatoes for chips in the chippie at the top of China street on Blackburn Rd. I know that Brian Ormerod from No 10 (?) is still around, but not aware of any more. A family of Footes lived at the top of the street on the Church side. What's your surname ? what number. I have a 1952 directory ( cannot find at present )which will tell who lived at what number
