Thumbs up Hi there all at ASFC...

Hello there ladies and gents,

I am actually a Canvey Island fan (season ticket holder) but Accrington Stanley are my second favourite Conference team and therefore I am really looking forward to this Saturday when the two teams play at Park Lane.

I've been interested in ASFC for a long time and have researched the history of your club, reading much about the sad demise from the football league in the early 60's and it would be wonderful if following this year, you could be back up again and it is certainly looking that way at the moment.

My log in way supposed to be Leo but something obviously went wrong when I registered still never mind, I hope now that I have found you, to post regularly on here and thereby be able to be kept informed of what is happening at Stanley.

I live in Essex and go to the Canvey home games with my daughter - hopefully the game on Saturday will not be segregated and I will be able to have a chat with some of the Stanley fans. We are a very hospitable club and although our facilities are not great to be honest, I am sure that all travelling down for the game will be made more than welcome and you will all have a great day out by the sea!!!

Canvey have their own forum too and in view of the game on Saturday, it may be of interest to posters here to check it out, the link is as follows -

I am 47 next birthday and a lifelong sports fan, cricket also being a passion (member of MCC) and follow most ball sports.

I am a collector of sports memorabilia, programmes etc (in fact I need the ASFC programmes from both this season and last if anybody can help but will post my request under the required link) and also follow West Ham in the Premier League.

Anyway, as I say looking forward very much to this coming Saturday and am sure it will be a top class game. We are a very inconsistent team at home but at least are coming into the game with two victories against local rivals Grays Athletic either side of Christmas so at least confidence will be high.

May the best team win and as I say, I look hopefully forward to meeting some of you there.

All good wishes

Leo

Hi LLeoeo
Welcome to Accyweb.
Sorry about that but I moved your thread because I thought your thread would be better placed in the Accrington Stanley forums, having seen that it is aimed primarily at the Stanley Supporters plus you would also be more likely to have your thread viewed by the Stanley Fans rather than having it placed were it was.
You have done nothing wrong…..it was just a quick location move.
If I have just goofed then I can soon move it back.

Re: Hi there all at ASFC...

Not a problem Len, happy to have my post wherever you think it is best. Just glad now to have found your excellent forum.

How do Stanley fans see the game at Canvey going on Saturday? Our star player Lee Boylan is out for possibly another 6 weeks following his collision with the goal post in the FA Trophy game v Kingstonian (when he actually swallowed his tongue) so he will definately not be playing against Stanley.

Bearing in mind how inconsistent Canvey are and as a still part time team in the Conference, how they run out of steam in the last 20 or so minutes (check how many games have been lost in the final 5-10 minutes this season) I will be happy with a point against yourselves as Conference leaders but we do seem to play better against the top sides having said that so we will see.

Do Accy have a good away following and how many can we expect to see at Canvey following Stanley on Saturday?

By the way, is there any way I can change my name from LLeoeo to how I actually wanted it as Leo please? Any help with that will be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers and all the very best....

There are two ways in which you can change your user name.
1 … You can re-register but you would have to use a different e-mail address.
2 … Contact Roy (admin) and He will change it for you and seeing as you haven’t made many posts/ threads at present there shouldn’t be a problem.

Leave it with me and I’ll contact you via pm (private message) and let you know what is happening
Cheers

As for the football questions, I'll leave them to the lads that know what they are taking about. hehe

Re: Hi there all at ASFC...

Cheers Len,

Appreciate it. My own stupid fault and if you can sort it out great, if not, it's not the end of the world, just that Leo is the name I post under at the Canvey forum. By the way check it out over there, they are saying some nice things about Stanley and your fans on our forum at the moment!!!

leo i was at the canvey v grays match on monday and i have to thank all the staff and stewards for their hospitality they showed me, and i look forward to seeing the game this weekend, you didnt run out of steam against grays i thought you got better as the game went on, but that was against 10 men, wat a great fight that was, i wonder what it would have been like if youd scored from that shot?
