KING family of Garden Street
Not so new here but feel an intro will help
My father Frank King was born in Garden Street in 1909. He moved away in 1936 to find work - in Slough. He was always an Accrington man. I remember many visits to 'the aunties'. Little things too like tea in a mug and reading the leaves - and being sent out to the road to collect the horse muck for the roses. Dad and his older brother were keen Cyclists Touring Club members and Cavers In October 1928 Uncle Jack brought some 13 young men together and formed The Northern Cavern and Fell Club then in 90 years ago in Feb 1935 they were instrumental in forming The Cave Rescue Organisation Robin |
