left church in 66

Hi,just found this site and am absolutly amazed.My name is Mike and I live on Vancouver Island,B.C. Canada,I was born in Whalley in 58,and for my few remaining years lived in Church,Accrington,Forty-one years ago since I ran down the cobbles on Victoria St,is there still a River Stink?How about the clock square?This is awesome,gotta run but will sure be back,is Sacred Heart School and Churh Kirk still around?Thanks for having this site,this is the closest I've been to "home"in 41 years,cheers,

Welcome -- we have lots of photos on here - old and new - spend some nostalgia time browsing. There are a few expats who post frequently - one is Eric who is in Canada too.

Sacred heart is still going but its a new building now, the old one as you will remember has long gone, built the new one behind where the old one stood.
Church Kirk - long gone

Oh, and the cobbles on Victoria street have gone too

Hi Mike, welcome to the site, hope you enjoy a walk in the past. I was at Church Kick but a year below you, Live at 89 Church St until 66 when we left for Fern Gore.
