Myself.
I am Peter John Barmby. I was born and grew up in Accrington for the first sixteen years of my life. I attended Mount Pleasant, Peel Park and Rhyddings schools.
I moved with my family to Darlington in 1966. I attended Leeds Trinity University and worked mostly in teaching ( children and adults ) and social work. I married and have four children, numerous grandchildren and now two great- grandchildren. I have recently been diagnosed with dementia and would like to become involved with the Accrington Web in the hope of finding pictures ( School photographs, Events in the local press circa 1950- 1960 even of people I once knew ) in order to help with my recall and re-kindle old memories. Thank you ! |

Hello Peter, welcome to Accyweb.
I hope your quest is fulfilled and that whatever is posted on other threads will make you smile, warm your heart and bring back memories that are hard to keep hold of. I am going to post a link to a video about old Accrington...in the hope that this will be your trip back to some of the places you knew. I hope you enjoy it.
