R.I.P. Max

In June this year we has to say goodbye to our Max , the faithful Collie. He would have been 14 in September. He started in December with what the vet then described as a bad cold with a constant runny nose. 3 months later they decided to do a scan of his head only to find that the bone in his nasal passages had been eaten away with a fungal infection. They did blood tests and found he had aspergillosis ( google it) He was admitted as an urgent case into Liverpool University Small Animal Hospital where he had two operations , one in March and one fortnight after to clean out his sinuses. The specialist vet there said he was also riddled with arthritis, although he never showed us any signs of it. He came home , but sadly never got any better as it spread to his nervous system and we had to send him over the rainbow bridge. We said to each other that a house is not a home without a dog so two days later we ventured over the border to Silsden to bring home Bryn

So sorry to hear of the passing of Max.
Anyone who tells you that he was only a dog has no soul.
Bryan will never replace max(who has taken a piece of your heart) but he is a new friend and companion....enjoy his company.

Re: R.I.P. Max

A sad time indeed & I feel for you at this difficult point in your lives, being a hound family over the years I know how painful it is to lose your furry mate & family member. And as to young Bryn, he looks a right little scallywag, he'll not replace old Max, but he'll most certainly forge his own special place within the family, they always do.

"Missing you" by Colleen Fitzsimmons may be a little help for you & yours at this time.

kindest regards, Dave.

My old dog Granville, a collie/alsation cross, was 17 years old when he died, so I know how difficult it is to lose a furry friend.

Re: R.I.P. Max

Can you teach him to chase off anyone that comes within 2m of you?

Re: R.I.P. Max

He is a very friendly dog. If a tiny dog comes up yapping at him , he will just stand still until it stops.

In that pic, it looks like he hasn't quite got the curve & is about to go off on a tangent.
