I lived in Accrington from birth (1952) until 1965 when I moved to the back of beyond ie Ossy.
My family lived in Cedar St (no 14) and then Avenue Parade (no 171).
Central Preparatory School (known as Miss Caulfield's) saw me through its dark door and even darker corridors between 1957 and 1963. Mrs Kilshaw, Miss Backhouse and Miss Hackwood were among the teachers I recall.
My father worked on Accrington Railway Station (having moved here after the war when Poland was occupied). My name: Karol Jozef Gajewski and I'd be really pleased to hear from anyone who remembers me or my family from those distant years.
(I forgot to mention that my wife and I moved back to Accy after spending almost 30 years in Cheshire last year.)
