Attached is the basic outline of a wood turning lathe Most wood turners make their own turning tools, apart from the gouge. I made mine from old files with the teeth ground off, and reformed to a cutting edge of the desired profile. They lasted longer, and stayed sharp longer than shop bought tools. Sharp tools are essential when wood turning. Retlaw.
