when we were looking for a house to buy we must have looked at - at least - 15 houses all over accrington - all various sizes & prices - and the best of it is - the house we bought was the least modern of them all !
but it had all the victorian characteristics still in place going from the (modern ?) 1960's kitchen (units & worktops, sink) which are all in mint condition to the 3 piece victorian bathroom suite complete with victorian tiles and original glass bath panels to name a few...
its a proper surprise when you see it - I love it to bits - I doubt you would find things like that in houses any where else - and certainly not in glasgow !
I shall wait and see if anyone else thinks that my area is a nice bit - if anyone is wondering where exactly I do stay I am about a 2 minute walk from the greyhound pub !

I've got a 1912 map of the area you are referring to glasgow guy. The ground rent was £11.0.2d per year, payable in 2 equal instalments, one on Ladyday and one on Michaelmas day.
