Did you know, the word Arndale is derived from the combined names of Arnold and Chippendale?

Why would they do that?

What was wrong with Chippenold?

Bon Marche has been there since the beginning of time as has H Samuels (i think) there was a veg shop in there at one point, Our Price, Adams, i was young when the Arndale opened so can't really remember many more original shops
