I vaguely remember going into the Arndale and buying a charger for a 'half brick size' mobile phone

It was my ex partner's - I 'inherited' it when we parted in 2002. It had lain in a drawer for a while. I resurrected it.
It had a 'rubber duck' ariel.
I only replaced it about 18months ago.

Re: Accrington Arndale
thought the first part of what they/we call the "Arndale" was built in the early 60s when they filled in the sunken gardens , and the shops/arcade at the rear were just an extension/lean-to of an existing structure ,
So am I right in thinking all the shops on Broadway lower down than the Odeon/Pickwick and the shop that later became Wardleworths new bookshop on the corner of Union st. including Woolworths and Marks and Spencers are part of the 'Arndale' ........ don't think we had 'Cell Phones/Mobiles' in those days.
Happen I've been away to long and getting things mixed up
wonder if the Evening Telegraph has a link to Accringtons sunken gardens
