Thanks for link , Wyn .

Do you have any information on the green single-decker Accrington Corporation buses ?

I can remember at least two in the 1950s , and they were certainly on the Willows Lane/Moscow Mill bus routes .

Re: Accrington Buses?

Yep, I remember those, Colin. Used to get the Moscow Mill one regularly to go downtown with my Gran. There's a picture of one in Robert Rush's book, "Accrington's Public Transport 1886-1986". Although it's in black and white, you can see it's not the usual red and blue livery. According to him, it was just an experiment, which was obviously discontinued after awhile, as they were repainted in standard ACT livery. The header pic on the FB site shows one of the buses in later years.

Thanks , Wyn .

I thought I hadn't been dreaming it .

It always caught my attention when one of those green buses turned up .......just the fact that they were different from the rest .

Re: Accrington Buses?

Yes, I have noticed the buses in the old Accrington livery...Fantastic to see this. I remember travelling to Accrington in 1943 / 52 from Leyland...as a child.. Looked forward to getting on the bus to Accrington, at Blackburn bus station, to go to my Grans in Richmond Road....Now I live here, what a super town it is, almost as good as was then, ....Almost.!
