Re: Accrington Markets

I rented one on a wednesday a month or so back, cant remember the pricing as different days cost diff. amounts, you can only book a week in advance, and the regular stall holders get first dibs on booking, so when I went to book there were only two stalls free, its not really a fair policy to anyone else. If you go upstairs in market hall to the market office they have the prices up on the window, and thats where you book from anyway as you've to pay a deposit. Hope this help a little

Sounds reasonable, the car boot places charge about that these days with no electric.

Less wishes that life would allow him to afford similar illegal substances that Groove and others seem able to consume.

That the regulars get 1st dibs on booking stalls before everyone else, not exactly 1st come 1st serve which would be a fair system, regulars are give the option to book stalls before Joe Bloggs.

I think the primary duty for the market management is to maximise income by getting as much occupancy as possible. Regular traders who turn up week in week out obviously contribute the majority of that income. You wouldn't have those regulars if they turned up and didn't get a stall. Even on Flea Market days I think most of them are regulars.

Can't see your reasoning there wallop, if as you say regulars are given priority, I can't see anything wrong in that, if your a regular your earning your living out of Market trading, casuals might want a stall once a year, seems simple to me that you give priority to people who are around the whole year round and not the odd occasion
