Re: Ackers overdrawn?

I have only been here a couple of months and with the time diffrence I do a catch up at night when you are all snoring in your beds. What are petz, what are ackers wot is a bank account. Is there somewhere to read about these things. I do so hate to be the dummy in the bunch,

Re: Ackers overdrawn?

If you look at the menu at the top there is a drop down link called "Petz". In this is a bank where you can set up an account to store your Ackers (which you earn for posting/newthreads etc). You can also set up a virtual pet to look after if you like.

Re: Ackers overdrawn?

"Ackers" are the AccyWeb version of virtual money but you don't earn it in every forum. The "Anything Goes" section for example doesn't earn any. If you open a bank account and transfer your ackers into there you also earn interest on them. Apart from using them to feed and amuse your virtual pet you can also buy different colours for your name when you've got enough (and that's where there seems to be a bug which causes you to go overdrawn for some unknown reason).

I seem to have suffered the same fate with the purchase of my red name. How were you able to correct this situation?

I had certain generous donators who brought me back up to scratch.

Apparently, they have struck again. My balance is back on the positive side of the ledger once again, for which I am eternally grateful. I was beginning to lose sleep trying to calculate how many 30 acker responses I would have to make to pay off a debt of nearly one hundred thousand.
