Re: Age of Houses

There is a ledger in the library which was compiled buy the Corporation Planning Dept. It will provide the answer I will enquire and report back. I will be pleased to hear why Heaning Ave is so called.

Re: Age of Houses

My guess is 1930's.I remember them just after the war and they would not have been built during the war.

Re: Age of Houses

Many thanks Bob, look forward to any information you can find out. I know Heaning is a place in the lake district & also Carlisle is up that way, so may be that is the reason of the names.
Thanks to other replies too

Re: Age of Houses

I have written off the the library and expect a reply on Tuesday . I was not aware of the town of Heaning. Likely that the builder came from up that way

Re: Age of Houses

Pretty sure the houses in Hatfield Road were built in the 1930s, and presume Balmoral, Carlisle, and Heaning were contemporary. If I remember correctly, Heaning Avenue was unsurfaced and must have remained unadopted from when it was built.
