Amiga 1200

I have an Amiga 1200 for sale which used to be my dad's. Trouble is I don't know anything about it and prospective buyers keep asking questions ie. does it have upgraded ram, does it have an accelerator board. They may as well be talking a foreign language. Does anyone on here know about Amiga computers or can anyone suggest where I could take it to find out.

A Museum or Computer collecters auction springs to mind.

Amiga... Now there's a name.
There were lots of upgrades for the Amiga, however it is not worth much. A quick look on a very popular auction website shows them from £10 upwards.
I would imagine you would be very lucky to get much more.

Got one in the cupboard upstairs, complete with hard drive, extra floppy, modem, boxes and boxes of software.
Roy asked me to look after it for him for about 3 months, back in 2003.
If he doesn't collect it soon I will be donating it to winney hill museum!

Re: Amiga 1200

Thanks for answers. On the "popular auction site" they can bring £160 + if upgraded and in original box. I will have to get it checked out somewhere.

Ebay is a four letter word to some people. Mentioned it to the guy who sells ex-army stuff on Whalley Rd and thought he was going to throw me out of the shop

Re: Amiga 1200

If you look on the under side of the 1200 there is a trap door open this and thats where the extra memory board will be if its got an upgrade.
I used to have a 500 and a 600 and a 1200 and a 4000 Amiga i also used to stand accy market selling Amiga stuff.
i changed my 1200 and put it into a tower so i could add extra stuff like cd player and writer.
Funnily enough i got a text the other day from someone in Blackpool who is after a Amiga 1200 so if you cant sell it let me know

The best one they ever made was the 500, that would run anything. Every model after that was temperamental and some of the best games wouldn't work on the 'improved' models.

Nuclear War, anyone? Or Moonstone?
