Re: Anyone with dispraxic child?

My child has dyspraxia and dyslexia and I'd be more than happy to have a chat. I was devastated when we found out but now its just part of who she is really.

Re: Anyone with dispraxic child?

Blimey more common than i thought, my lad has just been on Occupational therapy sessions for dyspraxia & recently been diagnosed with aspergers too, & being referred to a 'spectrum' [no not the th'owd game pc] as he has 2 of them confirmed now. More series of tests & sessions to go & still awaiting a few reports as well, there could be more yet it seems he's collecting them lol.

Glad i looked in on this, my lad's finished his last session & is going to miss his new 'like minded' mates something rare for dyspraxic/aspergers is mates of same, most of them came from Blackburn district. Nice to have other people that have children of this condition & glad its talked about cos it can be hard work & draining sometimes, plus having someone who understands helps, i joined a forum a bit ago for dyspraxic parents but as per its mainly people from USA, which have slightly diffferent things

Re: Anyone with dispraxic child?

the spectrum refers o the autistic spectrum which is autism, asbergers and other conditions that are linked with autism. its good for him to mix with children like him and also children that are not.. did your boy get labled as a naughty child before being diagnosed?

Yeh thats right he is being referred to spectrum because of dyspraxia & the aspegers [both can be interlinked as is autism too, tho he is ruled aspergers than autistic because of his good verbal skills, brightness but the dyspraxic side lets him down as well as his social skills as poor as taking things way too literal, which classes him as the aspergers than autistic]. He was mainly classed as clumsy kid & too highly imaginative & literal plus doesn't shut up lol, mainly he was overlooked when younger cos of a medical condition, now all his little problems are now being recognized thro an in depth assessment after a long battle to get him sorted in time for secondary school.

has yours been diagnosed emamum?
