Angry Argos - Free Offers!

Has anybody else had problems getting "free offers" from Argos?

I bought 2 I Pods from ARGOS for Christmas Presents and included within the catalogue was an offer of free shuffle packs which made it a good offer. I went to Argos in Blackburn to be told that the shuffle packs were not in stock but to take my receipt to any Argos store within 2 months and they would let me have them as some would be in stock after Christmas.

Despite visits to different Argos stores i have been unable to receive the free offer and they are no longer in their new catalogue.

I've e mailed Argos and received 2 responses the 2nd of which informs me that free offers have a start and end date and only limited stock is available and once that stock is sold thats it

My argument is that had I not been informed that stock would be available then I may have chosen not to purchase the Ipods from Argos. In simple terms Argos could buy 1 free offer per store and thats it!!

Sadly the same thing happened the previous year when we bought a camcorder with "free tapes" but once again they were always out of stock and we gave up

Have I just been unlucky or have other webbers had the same problem?

Re: Argos - Free Offers!

ive not had a problem personally but my sis bought a new leather suite from argos last year and it was either re-called or there was a fault with it and it had to go back, the suite cost £700 but the one they had isnt in the new catalogue and the nearest one to it is £799, argos are now making a decision whether or not she can have the £799 one, i dont like argos, they suck

There is a simple answer to this tell Argos to sod off, or words to that effect

That sounds a teensy bit deceptive if you ask me.

I think that all offers like that are subject to limited stock, and so they should probably make it known when the offer has ran out.

However, with the settee, they should give her the one thats more expensive as it isn't her problem they cant get the exact same one in, and she has a right for the settee to be replaced if thats what guarantee she had on it when she bought it.
