Beer Prices in Hyndburn

My local club has just put up its prices again, this time 20p per pint. Joh Smiths smooth is now £2.50 a pint and lager is £2.75. Is there any pub more expensive than this. Which is Hyndburn's cheapest and dearest pint. My local club is Platt Social Club in Accrington

Is this thread was about local beers prices? So what has the price of Foster's budgie urine and J Smith's snot got to do with it?

Real Ale is £2.40 a pint in the Peel Park.

I wouldn't drink the pasteurised muck that is badged as "smooth" if it were 50p a pint.

Cask in the Workmen's Club usually hovers around the £1.60 mark, when it's on. Malcolm keeps his cellar very well too.

Con Club isn't bad on price but it's the best part of £6 for a couple of pints at either The Roebuck or The Walmsley Arms. Pity really because the Wam is a good pub.

Kronenbourg is £2.70 in the Queens, don't know the price of any of the others. Quite a nice pub as well with friendly staff.

What I can't understand is why people pay so much a pint for what is basically 95% water, and then moan about the price of petrol.

Maybe, but compare the production methods of the two, and then justify the price of ale.

I think that if you compare the amount of tax/duty on both alcoholic drinks and petrol/diesel you will see what the true cost is.
They are all looked on as "cash cows" by whichever party is in Government.

Re: Beer Prices in Hyndburn

Think the Calder now takes the most expensive pint in Hyndburn crown - £4.20 or something ridiculous for a Peroni! Madness.
