how long do I need to cook them for...... anyone know: I have already soaked them....

I hope you soaked them in a decent Brandy, that always brings out the flavour, (of the Brandy).

Best thing, google for it there are allsorts of recipes even just a plain bung them in the pan and leave them to burn sort of thing.

Good heavens magpie ain't heard of black peas for years, the last time I had them was at the Castle on Whalley Road in the early 80s on a pool night

I have never cooked black peas but I make my own mushy peas - I think they will be the same - 20 - 30 mins simmer

Used to get mine from that health shop that shut down on union street.
When cooked theres nowt better than putting plenty of salt and vinegar on em....yummy

Well I soaked them over night.... and cooked them on a low heat for an hour:
Result: Very very good.... lots of vinegar and a splash of mint sauce: very filling and a good cheap and low calorie and low in fat tea:

I suggest opening a window before lighting a cigarette tonight
