Interesting: I have just finished, finally, Noam Chomsky's "Failed States: The Abuse of Power and the Assault on Democracy." Bullseye Barb loaned it to me .... seems as if Chomsky is her fav. author

No, don't think I have. I'll keep my eyes peeled for it.
I used to read alot, like Danielle steele and Sydney Sheldon, but don't seem to get the chance now anymore.

Re: Bookworms: What are you reading at the moment?
Douglas Haig: War Diaries and Letters, 1914-1918. Edited by Gary Sheffield (who, by the way, wrote a challenging book on the Somme) and John Bourne. The editing is a little biased in Haig's favour; not surprising given that Sheffield edited it. Oh ... and it has pictures, but non of them pop up.

I've been reading a number of books by Dee Henderson. She writes these dramas very well.
Brian
Glad to have a light hearted thread after my anti-establishmenary political posts over in "General Chat!" Trust me, I'm still the nice, chummy guy you've come to know and love!

Re: Bookworms: What are you reading at the moment?
Got a book yesterday about Murder and dark deeds going on in Hyndburn and Blackburn it the 19th century.
The very first story is about a step dad that cut the hands of his stepdaughter with a cut throat razor she was only 5 at the time this all happened in Victoria st in 1921.
shocking story.

Re: Bookworms: What are you reading at the moment?
Just read a book based round the village where my Mum grew up. It is called "An Irish Country Childhood" and though it wouldn't appeal to a lot of people I really enjoyed it as it gave me some insight into Mums early years Oh it is written by Marrie Walsh and funnily enough Mums maiden name was Walsh
