Bottom Of Burnley Road.
Can anyone tell me if there was anything at the bottom of Burnley road, further down from the Hire Shop, there is just a patch of land there now, the building at the other side used to be the old video shop.
Just seems odd.
TIA

Ah phew! was 1st place i thought of, used to live round there when young so passed many times on way to vid shop LOL, i remember it being up & remember it being knocked down, dont know what they planned to do with it other than grow weeds & look an eyesore, it was pulled down if i seem to remember rightly around the time bases of manor/lodge/sultan street at the bottom were pulled down & before the planned construction of the eastgate carriageway
Ah the memories

Re: Bottom Of Burnley Road.
never thought of it as a factory, more of a workshop, was one leval with an asbestos roof i think, was also a green painted wood trellis gate on burnley rd,as well as the "Raggy Back" enterance, with a few rusty old pieces of ironwork in the burnley rd side yard.

Re: Bottom Of Burnley Road.
It used to be owned by Walker Farrimond not sure if it still is, it wasn't built on because it makes their garage visable from Eastgate or so I was told by someone who worked for them.

Re: Bottom Of Burnley Road.
Confirm that it was a vehicle spring workshop and the last time I saw it it needed pulling down before it fell down.Think the proprietor's name was Moore

Re: Bottom Of Burnley Road.
Cheers for the Info.
Happen they should knock the old Video Shop building down aswell, as its empty and has been for a while, just a eye sore at the moment.
