Re: Brown Paper
There's a little shop on Warner Street that sells all that sort of thing (least I think it's still there), can't remember the name but it sells paper plates, cups etc and was always reasonably priced.

Re: Brown Paper
I don't recommend brown paper on its own. I have bought on ebay and things wrapped in just brown paper have arrived with the paper torn and goods damaged.

Re: Brown Paper
When we post anything we usually use a black bin bag and sellotape the address label to it, if only a small parcel cut the bag down to size. but for 12" vinyls I would wrap in bubble wrap first as cherokee suggested.

Re: Brown Paper
Couple of squares of cardboard on either side of the record wouldn't go amiss, plus large " DO NOT BEND " sticker !

Re: Brown Paper
I know that vinyl mailing envelopes do exist too, might be worth checking out how much they are, maybe in Record Collector magazine?
They are made of strong cardboard, bit like those big envelopes you get calendars in.

Re: Brown Paper
you can also make a vest out of brown paper to keep out the cold ( I joke not and it works )
if you use strong tape you could use wall paper lining for the records not the vest....

Re: Brown Paper
I had travel sickness as a child and my mum made me sit on brown paper on the bus- sometimes it worked - having scratchy thighs took my mind off the nausea

Think this is a "mind over matter" thing ... with me, I was told by my gran that sitting on newspaper on the long distance buses would stop my travel sickness .... we used to take the bus to London (one of the Ribble "white ladies") ... and sitting on newspaper did stop the travel sickness ... soon, I forgot about the paper, and have not suffered from travel sickness since.
And back on topic .... why not use a courier service and let them take care of the packaging ... include mailing costs in the price of what you sell.
