car damaged/warranty help please...

right, the partner has just came home with the side skirting from the car in the car - she was driving home on the m6 and drove over a bit of someones exhaust which hit the fibre glass skirting, stuck in it and pulled it off, she stopped, put it in the car and has brought it home...now will this be covered under the warranty to be replaced or will it be a case of buying a new one...? and if it is a case of buying a new one how much are we talking...her cars a 54 plate corsa...
all info welcomed

cheers

Re: car damaged/warranty help please...

Not under warranty, warranty is for faulty goods, its not faulty, it was accidentally knocked off so no responsibility lies with the manufacturer. As for cost to replace, no idea, try ringing a few bodyshops. I've used KCL on Willows lane who was good and there is a lady who works on harvey street ossy whos meant to be OK and cheap. Going to Accy Motors(main stealer) will most likely cost you an arm and a leg but its your choice.

Re: car damaged/warranty help please...

we tried to claim under our warranty once for our car and we were told that the warrenty really only covers any major faults like engine falling out,our leaking sunroof wasnt covered neither was the electrics in the door, just to let you know never pay extra for warrenty unless you know what you get for for your money, unless the warrenty comes free with the car,we paid for a warrenty that was worthless, you should ask to see what you are covered for

Re: car damaged/warranty help please...

I agree with entwisi. Its nothing to do with vauxhall so they will not pay for it. As for the price well well well.....

I rang up a week or so ago and wanted a bisic parcel shelf.... but not for £170! So if its that for a parcel shelf get ready to be bummed.

Re: car damaged/warranty help please...

I phoned vauxhal today..and asked them how much it would cost for a new sill..their price £32 ...nearly falling off my chair I asked how much to fit it..their price £40 max...so to say I was happy was an understatement..I thought I would be looking at a couple of hundred at least...
