Carbon monoxide tester?

Been all over Accrington today looking for one of those stick on testers but can't find one anywhere, looked in the Market Hall, Wilkinsons, B&M, Whewells shop (thanx Lancsdave) and the pound shops and none of them sell them.

The reason i'm asking is because my Parakeet died this morning and i just want to rule out any carbon monoxide in the living room, i highly doubt there is any because Twin Valley did their annual gas check last week and didn't report anything

anyone any ideas where i can get one from?...just to be on the safe side

Re: Carbon monoxide tester?

Does the fire brigade not give them out, free of charge. Might be worth giving them a quick ring Accrington 235211 or Blackburn 52111.

I have one of those battery operated ones - Fireangel brand.
I got it before my gas central heating boiler was replaced.
According to the men who installed the condenser boiler, if it starts to emit carbonmonoxide it automatically shuts down.

Try a Caravan, Camping & Motor homes place if you've got one near you, they've probably got some.

That's quite cheap. Think I get my stick on ones from Asda .... or maybe a D.I.Y store ??? Whenever I remember.

Actually got a lecture from a B.T. Engineer about the stick on ones ... although better than nothing, don't wake you up if you have some CM emissions. Another point is, I don't look at mine too often.

Flashy: Sorry about your little feathered friend. Know from past posts you were fond of him... xx
