just found teh following which seems very good value to get youngsters on teh road.

ETA: sorry, those prices are if you finance teh car through them but they do quote for others as well. Basically if you stick to small hatchbacks (Fiesta/Corsa/etc) you shld be OK

Put someone else on the insurance who has no claims as the main driver and him as additional ok he might not get any no claims, you do with some compaines though! It goes down abit and putting the excess up if you can afford it.

Dangerous game that as you can have your policy cancelled pretty sharpish as it is known as fronting and most insurance companies are getting wise to it.

Your idea is ok if the main driver truely is the main driver though
