Re: Cheese

Lol..... Dairylea Triangles are not cheese........ They are processed goo aimed at parents who can't be arsed to cut up some proper cheese for their kids. Kids only grow to like what they are fed..... Feed them good stuff and they'll never know any different.

Re: Cheese

Went into a local supermarket last week...got some cheese slices.....proper mature cheddar, not the processed stuff 100% cheese...they have gone up from 99pence to £1.45.......I won't be buying them again . I will have to forego my cheese .
I only bought it because each slice is 20 grams and it made me watch just how much I eat. If I buy a block of cheese I hoe into like there is no tomorrow.
So cheese is OFF!

Excuse me??? I for one can be arsed, if my kids want dairylea from time to time then they can have it, if they want "proper" cheese then they can have it, and the same goes for pretty much everything else. All things in moderation, I dont just feed my kids on processed foods, they get a whole variety of foods but I feed them what they will eat and what they like. Childrens eating habbits change from one day to the next. How can you say that someone cant be arsed preparing food for their child just by admitting that they buy cheese triangles etc.

Re: Cheese

The price of a food is rising, and if you believe some, is due to 'rocket' in price.
It makes sense to avoid overpriced, processed, food that has less nutritional value than unprocessed food.
When money is tight it is the time to read food labels in order to establish whether what you buy is giving nutrition, or just filling the stomach.

Re: Cheese

I will admit (and am not ashamed to do so) that I do keep some processed foods in the house incase that for some reason (normally illness or such like) that I cant get out to do my shopping, if the kids are ill it can be difficult to go and get my shopping but because processed food has a longer shelf life I keep it in in these cases. I try to feed my boys with foods with a high nutritional content but sometimes this is not possible, and I know that I am not the only person to do this. As a single parent of young twins it isnt always possible. So shoot me for doing this but at least they are getting fed

I keep loads of processed, frozen and tinned food in the house. And to be honest, if it makes a meal, fantastic, job done!

I also have fruit juice, fruit, veg, milk, eggs, cheese and all the 'healthy' stuff in as well. Spiderman is a problem eater, really pickybut not as choosy with his drinks. Therefore, if he has an unhealthy tea, he has healthy juice or milk.

Would like to see you try and forcefeed my son Lettie, lol. You cannot force a child to eat what you want them to. You can offer, cajole, bribe, disguise it and so on. Doesnt always work. What you cant do is offend every single mother that has some convenience food in the house for the kids

As I have said before, what a great world we live in now eh?? being able to choose what we feed our kids..... BUT, back in the days when everyone was rationed, people ate what was available... and a hell of a lot of them lived!! They didn't get the chance to be picky... " oh that is processed food, I haven't eaten in 3 days, but hey, i'm not eating that crap "

Emzy, your boys are fed and watered, and what you feed them boys has nothing to do with anyone else, you know best, after all YOU'RE THERE MUM!! and mum's know best
