That's the place garinda, we had our do up on the balcony inside, the girls were certainly dressed as serving wenches. I will dig out the bill and check on the spelling of the place but I am pretty sure it was Ye Olde brown Cow.

That'll be the place.
Big roaring fire at far end, opposite a large balcony at the other end, over where you entered the big hall.
Early eighties it was owned by someone called Geoff Foote, and was still very good...though the wenches wore modern dress at this time.

I used to love going there.

It's been an Indian now for a few years. Don't know how busy they are. I don't know anyone who's been there.

Re: Coach and Horses - New Italian?

Went that new Italian at formely coach and horses.
The food was ok actually .It lacks atmosphere though, which is not helped by the non talkative and bit uninterested staff.
Beware of the cattle grid when walking to/from top car park in the dark, someones going to break an ankle in that grid if they dont get it better lit up.

On the plus side its only £3 for a pint of peroni

might give it another try before writing it off

Better not suggest going there with the other half then the last time we went there she slipped on the cobbles outside a broke her hip, don't think she would be interested really

Re: Coach and Horses - New Italian?

Well we went there to celebrate my Mum's birthday and thought it was a really good meal.

We all really enjoyed our food and the staff were brilliant.

We booked for 6pm (my dad likes his tea at tea time and we were pushing it booking for 6pm!!) and there were only a few tables occupied, by the time 7pm came all the tables were taken bar 1!

They didnt rush us so they could take our table for some-one else and there were nice "breathing" space in between courses approx 20mins.

I would recommend going for a meal and we said that we would deff go back.
