Complaining
Does it always pay to complain?
i personally think it does, if i am not satisfied with something then i will complain about it, why should we have to settle for second best in life?
Whilst at my brothers the other day i was browsing through 'star' magazine, i noticed that the majority of the pictures in it where blurred and unrecognisable, so i emailed 'star' when i got home and complained about the quality of the photo's, i didnt expect a response from them but the one i got was rather nice. They apologised for the quality of the photo's and sent me the same magazine again and a copy of this weeks magazine for free, how nice of them
I have complained in restaurants before (very descreetly of course) and have always had a good response to my complaint.
I am not a habitual complainer, but i will complain when the need arises
do you?

Yes, I would....and if you read my blog you will note that I have done so very recently.
Though like you, I am not a habitual complainer.

Re: Complaining
My motto is "it's now what you say it is how you say it". I on occasion will complain and I find I am listened to more if I say my what my complaint is about in a calm and respectful way.

Re: Complaining
i was in a cafe in Preston last year and all i had ordered was a plate of chips and gravy and a glass of lemonade for Reece, it took them 45 minutes to bring it to the table and when they did bring it the chips where on a tiny side plate, i looked at the waitress, told her i was not paying £3.50 for THAT(drink and chips)and i got up and walked out
if i'm not pleased with something then they get to know about it, like i said, why should we settle for second best? we arent second class citizens

Re: Complaining
I complain when complaining is necessary, if you don't people giving a poor service. Many years ago I'd been in hospital and when I came home the wife said she'd take me out for a meal, we went o the Bulls Head a Wilpshire, the meal was utter crap, the table was dirty there was no soup available and the main meal was well garbage. It just so happened that at the time I was running a pool league for Whitbreads and had some contacts, one of which I rang and got the name of the MD and his Luton Address, I wrote a scathing letter and low and behold I received a reply return post saying he had ORDERED the area manager to look into my complaint and he would get in touch direct. I received a voucher for a meal for two and any Whitbread eatery and a bottle of any wine I chose, I was in Blackpool and went to the Red Lion and handed the voucher to the head waiter and I Can tell you it was one of the best meals I've ever had. Does it pay to complain to damn right it does
