Directions to Foxhill Bank Nature Reserve
If I'm travelling down Union Road, where do I turn to get to the Reserve? I've never been, but I'm due to be there tomorrow.
Thanks for any directions.

Re: Directions to Foxhill Bank Nature Reserve
There is an entrance across from Ossy Mills. If you go up the side street next to the car park (which used to be a petrol station) on the opposite side of the road from Ossy Mills main CP, there is a kissing gate at the very top end.

Re: Directions to Foxhill Bank Nature Reserve
No, that's not where you need to be.
Go along Union Rd, to the war memorial at the bottom of Rhyddings St. More or less opposite that is the Tinker and Budget pub and the old fire station. Turn down the road in between the blue sandwich shop and the pub. You will be facing the old fire station - go to the right down what looks like a back street and go across the bridge. Do NOT go up the cobbled road, turn left in front of the NASH club and follow the road down. You'll see the nature reserve at the bottom of that road.

Why?? That entrance brings you right onto the bit where the ponds are. The one you gave directions to is at one end and the other end's entrance is just up from Church/Ossy station down Foxhill Bank Brow and the road in my original post is called Badge Brow.

And you'll be at the right entrance
When travelling DOWN union Rd turn left straight after the tinker and budget pub, if you actually get to the war memorial on your right you have gone too far, when you turn left keep to the right, takes you down the back of the shops, go down there and the road will bend to the right then turn left, you will go past the club on your right, follow that down to the bottom and the nature reserve will be straight in front of you, very limited parking though, I usually park at the club and walk down - Gayle never makes me a brew though when I'm passing

Re: Directions to Foxhill Bank Nature Reserve
It might be an idea if you park outside the NASH club and walk the rest of the way - it's only down the road but there's only a couple of spaces at the entrance.

I'll do that. I've got my boots and waterproof coat at the ready. Good old British summer.

Re: Directions to Foxhill Bank Nature Reserve
I sleep with my bedroom window open, so if you're going plucking mushrooms, please keep the plucking noise down.
Thank you.

Re: Directions to Foxhill Bank Nature Reserve
well i went on the walk with a friend & had a lovely time, the lad who gave the talk on mushrooms gave a great insite to the mushrooms that grow on our land (not many in the reserve) it was a very interesting morning, breakfast in gobbiners was "huge" well to me it was & well worth the money, im off for a well earned rest now thanks to all who organised this mornings walk.
