Do you still send them

Well yesterday I finally got my backside in gear and wrote my Christmas Cards, which started me thinking, do you still send them and who does them in your house the woman of the house or the man? Myself I don't have a choice because if I don't do um the mice won't It usually do mine in October mainly because one year I was in hospital for 6 weeks leading up to Xmas and didn't send any cards that year. I think I wrote about 60 altogether yesterday, but do you write the same, more or even less?

I did the world a favour about 6 years ago and stopped sending them, first year got about 100, second year 50 from the third year it has gone down to about 3 if I include the one from the Post Office encouraging me to send the darned things.

Just shows how the Christmas spirit wanes if people aren't getting tit for tat!

I only send one now, used to be two but one person died.
As I get them free every year they have no real meaning.

This will probably be the last year we send Christmas Cards physically and go over to e-cards. The intention will be to give a ittle money to a charity of choice and ask that others do the same instead of sending a physical card back.

Seems like a good balance.

I once sent a Birthday Card on line, seemed a good idea at the time much easier to send one to the Far East than snail mail. The only problem was that the on line company I used shared my Email address with the world and his wife and was inundated with emails selling everything from Viagra, Blue DVDs Memberships of online gambling outlets, car insurance, books, CDS, online dating ect, ect, ect, all America as well may I add

That's a good point, you do need to be very careful with who you use. Generally I go through Yahoo! who already have my details, or a couple of other trusted sites I know.

Yes I still send them.

My most hated chore of the year.

Since handwriting is now a right pain in the...well hand really, people get a typed letter in their card, informing them of my year, and a scrawled signature.

It does become daft, sending cards to people you haven't seen for twenty years, and are unlikely to see again.

Damn. Why am I so popular, with 224 cards to write?

In my experience you wont lose the friends if you stop the cards - you see relief on their faces because they can send one less

I know.

You're right.

I just worry that people who I only now stay in touch with via cards, will think I've snuffed it.

224, hell and I thought I was sending a lot with 60. Well it only reaffirms my suspicions that Artists are more popular than politicians
